STORYTELLING
Storytelling is a powerful tool for organisations to turn experiences into impactful messages that inspire stakeholders.

True stories foster empathy and understanding, effectively communicating core values and lessons learned, while illustrating challenges and successes that motivate action and drive positive change.
Developing a compelling story for an organisation requires several steps, from identifying the storyline to fully expanding it for various media.
At WPP, we provide continuous support to the changemakers, empowering them to be the actors and the storytellers of their own story.
Our Approach

Identifying the Storyline
Exploring stories most relevant to the organisation and defining the core message of the story, key lessons and target audience. Identifying characters to portray with respect and authenticity and creating an engaging and informative storyline.

Crafting the Story
Gathering relevant materials, facts and data along with conducting interviews to ensure narrative accuracy and depth.
Constructing the structure, through scripts and storyboards outlining the main characters’ voices and emotions, providing context and integrating various perspectives.
Considering the most appropriate medias and supporting key storytellers with training to enable them to carry their stories with a clear and strong voice.

Story Capture and Refinement
Bringing the story to life through various mediums, including photos and videos and written narrative, according to the script.
Filming or recording sessions to capture interviews, relevant footage and ambient sounds, gathering material for both an initial story and future communication.
Refining the content, editing for factual accuracy, clarity and coherence, polishing the narrative to ensure it resonates with the audience.

Story Platform & Delivery
Deciding how to present the story across a combination of platforms - such as the organisation’s presentation, website, and social media - to align with the target audience and maximise reach and engagement.
Presenting with integrity and transparency, offering a balanced view while keeping the focus on the storyteller and their capacity to initiate change.
